MacAvon Media for College Lecturers and Instructors

Welcome to MacAvon Media for Lecturers. This area of the site is dedicated to our free support services for college lecturers and instructors. The services we provide are described below. Access to these services is only available through secure login to a Lecturer’s Account.

Lecturers’ Accounts

Only bona fide instructors at recognised educational institutions are eligible to open Lecturers’ Accounts and all Lecturers’ Accounts require to be validated before they become active. When you request a Lecturer’s Account you will be asked to supply your name, details of your department and institution, details of your course(s), your academic email address and some means of verifying your position and identity such as a current college Web page which includes your contact details.

Lecturers’ Accounts are free. There is no charge for any of the services provided, and we do not ask for any financial details.

Please note: if your academic email address and position cannot be verified through reference to a current college Web page, we will contact you by email to request a photograph or scan of your college ID card before your Lecturer’s Account can be activated.

Free PDF Evaluation Copies

Lecturers and instructors who have opened Lecturers’ Accounts are able to download free PDF evaluation copies of the chapters of all our available textbooks and other material relevant to their courses.

Discounted Custom PDF Bundles for College Courses

One of the main advantages of a Lecturer’s Account is that it enables you to construct custom course bundles of just those chapters you wish to use in each of your courses. This means you can ensure that your students have direct access to their course material at a low price from a safe source. Course bundles are automatically offered at a specially discounted price, making it cheaper for your students to buy your recommended bundle than the individual chapters on open sale or the printed books.

PLEASE BE AWARE: PDF chapters of our books are only legally available direct from us.

Printed course bundles containing individual chapters of our books are NOT LEGAL – not even when produced as college in-house publications.

You can create course bundles using chapters from different books if you wish. Each selection you make will be bundled together and made available for purchase at a special URL which will be supplied to you for embedding in your course Web page.

Any number of chapters may be included in a course bundle, from a single chapter to a whole book or multiple books.

Digital Multimedia, 3rd Edition: Only in Course Bundles

It’s important to note that PDF versions of the chapters of Digital Multimedia, 3rd Edition are only available in custom course bundles created through Lecturers’ Accounts.

If you are using this popular textbook for your course please ensure that you have created a course bundle for your students as PDF chapters from this book are not currently available for purchase by the general public, nor is it legal to construct printed course bundles containing chapters of this book.

Free Lecture Slides

Sets of free lecture slides are available to download through your Lecturer’s Account. These include pre-constructed sets of PowerPoint slides, pre-constructed sets of high-quality PDF slides, and “kits” containing image files and plain text files of all the key points in our chapters for you to create your own slide sets based on our material.

Free Pocket PDFs

Most of our Pocket PDFs designed for display on smart phones and other mobile devices are available free for lecturers to download.
